Отделение выполняет работы:

Проведение испытаний по определению устойчивости транспортных средств различных категорий к воздействию внешних источников электромагнитного излучения и электромагнитной совместимости;
Проведение испытаний в отношении установки устройств освещения и световой сигнализации транспортных средств;
Проведение испытаний в отношении количества, месторасположения и характеристик задних опознавательных знаков для транспортных средств большой длины и грузоподъёмности; Проведение испытания транспортных средств в отношении вентиляции, отопления и кондиционирования;
Проведение испытаний транспортных средств в отношении габаритных и весовых ограничений;
Проведение испытаний по оценке долговечности конструкции на коррозионную стойкость;
Проведение испытаний на соответствие дополнительным требованиям к специализированным и специальным транспортным средствам (автобетоносмесители, автолесовозы, автомобили скорой медицинской помощи, автосамосвалы, пожарные автомобили, транспортные средства для коммунального хозяйства и содержания дорог и т. п.);
Проведение пробеговых испытаний образцов транспортных средств с целью оценки показателей надежности, работоспособности и долговечности, в том числе, с использованием полигонных методик ускоренных и форсированных испытаний;
Проведение идентификации с целью оценки соответствия типов транспортных средств требованиям технического регламента о безопасности колёсных транспортных средств;
Участие специалистов отделения в работе комиссий Органов по сертификации и Госнадзора по проверке условий производства и инспекционному контролю сертифицированных транспортных средств;
Организация проведения испытаний комплектных транспортных средств в рамках подтверждения соответствия нормативным документам;
Разработка нормативных и методических документов в области испытаний полнокомплектных транспортных средств различных категорий.

    TEST TRACKS WABCO

    Road and commercial vehicle safety standards continue to become increasingly stringent worldwide. New and existing commercial vehicle systems – such as electronic braking systems, distance warning and stability control systems – can further support vehicle drivers and improve safety.

    Since the mid-1970s, alongside software-based testing, a key aspect of WABCO's development process continues to take place on test tracks.

    Today, WABCO is the only commercial vehicle industry supplier that operates three privately owned test tracks: • Rovaniemi Test Track at the Arctic Circle (Finland), opened in 1988
    • Jeversen Test Track near Hanover (Germany) , opened in 1995
    • Chennai Test Track (India) , opened in 2001

    Each test track is specially designed for commercial vehicle trials. It provides optimal conditions to test and refine new systems in order to meet tomorrow's demanding customer and regulatory requirements.

    These proving grounds allow testing for the world market – on all imaginable road surfaces, in all weather conditions, from extreme coldness to high heat and humidity.

    WABCO test tracks add quality assurance for manufacturers, fleet owners, distributors and drivers alike. They know that WABCO has a development program which enables repeated and reproducible testing, including scientific validation to help modify new or evolving systems and components.

    WABCO also tests the company's own ideas for new products and systems. Furthermore, WABCO partners with customers – original equipment manufacturers – as they design and test their prototype vehicles.

    What is learned and validated at WABCO's respective test tracks shapes further collaboration as new model vehicles go into production.

    In due course, WABCO products and systems can also become repair or replacement systems and components during a vehicle's service life. For fleet operators, commercial vehicle owners and drivers, WABCO's test tracks help ensure aftermarket reliability and performance.

    Module der Verkehrs-Versuchsanlage (Транспортные испытательные модули)

    Die historischen Module (gekennzeichnet mit *) des Fahrzeugerprobungsgelandes von Horstwalde sind steinerne Zeugen von uber 60 Jahren Kraftfahrzeugentwicklung in Deutschland. Ihre Bauform war Grundlage fur viele weltweit spater errichtete Kraftfahrzeug-Versuchsanlagen. Auf Wunsch unserer Kunden wurden seit 1995 weitere Module angelegt.
    Ein Teil der Module ist in ein Off - Road Streckensystem integriert, welches aus drei verschiedenen Einzelstrecken mit unterschiedlichen Schwierigkeitsgraden besteht. Jede Off-Roadstrecke kann im Kreis gefahren (7,1 km bis 8,6 km) oder mit benachbarten Strecken kombiniert werden. Optisch unbedeutende oder konstruktiv ahnliche Module, wie zum Beispiel eine leere Betonwanne vergleichbar der von Wasser- und Schlammdurchfahrt (vorgesehen fur Sonderbefullungen) sind hier nicht extra aufgefuhrt.

    The concept of FKVV (Fahrbahn-Kraftfahrzeug-Verkehrs-Versuchsanlage) has been developed on the basis of 57 major vehicle test sites world-wide. This study enabled to establish the key parameters for a new type of test site in Germany which will fulfil the future R&D requirements in vehicle design, road structure and traffic logistics. The test site is independent and available for everyone, especially for SME's. Following a survey and concept adjustment in 2003, the test site will be built in accordance with the possibilities and requirements of industry. The first step will be the completion of the currently available off-road test site.

    GKN Proving Ground

    GKN Driveline’s proving ground is located in Tochigi, Japan, and it includes a vast range of tracks to enable automotive component and vehicle manufacturers to test and demonstrate their products.

    The test track, the engineering garage and control centre are located within an overall area of 200,000m2. In addition to high-speed vehicle tests on the 1,800m oval circuit, the test track provides special test areas for real 4WD and AWD evaluation on special low friction surfaces and handling tracks. In addition, the engineering garage offers comprehensive facilities for maintenance, installation of prototypes and instrumentation of test cars.

    Proving Ground Facilities

    1. Control centre

    Control for test vehicles is conducted here. The 15-metre high control tower provides a panoramic view of the course.

    2. Engineering garage

    With hoists for preparation and instrumentation of test cars. This garage can be used for training and a an event space.

    3. High speed Oval track

    Two 1,800 metre long lanes with banked curves; the maximum gradient of the south bank is 45 degrees. Vehicles can be tested up to speed of 120 km/h.

    4. Skid pad

    A diameter of up to 140 metres allowing various types of skid tests.

    5. Circular Low track (blue basalt)

    The skid ring at the outside blue basalt of the skid pad with a diameter of 120m offers driving on a surface similar to compacted snow with vehicle speeds up to 80 km/h.

    6. Handling track (asphalt)

    The total track length is 1,036 metres and there are 20 different kinds of corners, varying from 18 to 85m radius.

    7. Slopes with different gradients (asphalt + blue basalt)

    There are four types of 30%, 20%, 10% and 5% gradients, and for the slopes of 20%,10% and 5% special tiles were laid out to recreate a low gradient quasi-compacted snow and icelike road

    Chrysler's Chelsea Proving Grounds

    Commercial truck and engine company Navistar has purchased a historic proving ground in Indiana and plans to use it to test new trucks, school buses, and military vehicles. Now called the Navistar Proving Grounds, the test track dates back to 1926 when Studebaker built it for testing. Adjacent to the track, trees were planted in a specific formation so the Studebaker name is still visible in aerial photography.In 1963, Studebaker shut down production in nearby South Bend, Indiana, and sold the track to commercial truck systems company Bendix, a company now known as Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems. In 1996, German automotive supplier Robert Bosch bought the track to test its components and began allowing other automotive companies to do the same. The 668-acre site includes a three-mile paved and banked oval with several that Navistar hopes to use for:
    Brake testing capabilities which include infrastructure, complete instrumentation, and computerized data acquisition
    Structural durability testing/accelerated mile accumulation with road profile capability using accelerometer and strain gage data and multiple road surfaces including chatter, impact, cobblestone, undulating, resonance road surfaces, high speed oval, gravel, body/chassis twist event, and off-road surfaces
    Specialized testing such as vehicle noise and handling, center-of-gravity, rollover and roof crush testing, gradeability up to 60%, traction control, and powertrain durability

    Nevada Automotive Test Center as a division of Hodges Transportation Inc

    After heading the Detroit Arsenal’s test facility at Camp Bullis near San Antonio, Texas, Henry C. Hodges moved to the Carson City area in 1957 and started the Nevada Automotive Test Center as a division of Hodges Transportation Inc.     Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC)

    In the early 1940s, the Army's 1.3 million-square-foot Detroit Arsenal was built in just seven months. The facility had a single purpose: to build quality tanks. The Army chose the site for the arsenal because of the area's wealth of automotive technology and manufacturing capability.
    In 1946, the Tank-Automotive Components Laboratory, now known as the Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC), was formed at the recommendation of a committee led by Chrysler Corporation's President K.T. Keller. This committee comprised of leading engineers from Chrysler, Continental Aviation & Engineering, Ethyl, Ford, General Motors, Hudson Motor Car, International Harvester, Packard, Studebaker and Timken Detroit Axle determined that Detroit would be an ideal location for a military automotive laboratory.     Moneteega proving grounds

    For many years the Australian Army has tested vehicles at Moneteega proving grounds. Photos stretching as far back as World War Two show vehicles being tested to destruction on these grounds.
