Magna Steyr AG & Co KG is an automobile manufacturer based in Graz, Austria, where also its primary manufacturing plant is located. It is a subsidiary of Canadian-based Magna International and was previously part of the Steyr-Daimler-Puch conglomerate.
Magna Steyr engineers, develops and assembles automobiles for other companies on a contractual basis; therefore, Magna Steyr is not an automobile marque. In 2002, it absorbed Daimler AG's Eurostar vehicle assembly facility. The company's vehicle assembly capacity reached 200,000 vehicles a year. It is the largest contract manufacturer for automobiles worldwide, and has several manufacturing sites, with its main car production in Graz in Austria.
Magna Steyr developed Mercedes-Benz's "4Matic" four-wheel drive (4wd) system, and assembles all E-Class 4Matic models. The company also undertook substantial development on the BMW X3 and manufactures all first generation X3s, the Aston Martin Rapide and developed several cars on behalf of manufacturers such as the Audi TT, Fiat Bravo and Peugeot RCZ.
Stewart & Stevenson has designed, manufactured and supported the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles for the U.S. Army since 1991. The FMTV, which includes 2.5-ton and 5-ton trucks in more than 15 variants, is produced in Stewart & Stevenson's state-of-the-art facilities located in Sealy, Texas. The company has produced over 26,000 FMTV vehicles, which are in service around the world.

ALL-TERRAIN specialists Pinzgauer have announced details of their latest go-anywhere model, to be branded the СXMТ. The initials stand for СX-treme MobilityТ.

La nuova versione di Pinzgauer, inoltre, si distingue dalla precedente per aver abbandonato il propulsore a benzina in favore di un economico e funzionale 5 cilindri turbodiesel di 2460 cc Euro III (sembra proprio una derivazione Volkswagen), di cui il costruttore non dichiara la potenza, un motore che sulla Touareg eroga 174 cavalli.

2002 June 6: Resolution passed at the annual general meeting changing the name of Steyr-Daimler-Puch Fahrzeugtechnik AG & Co KG to MAGNA STEYR Fahrzeugtechnik AG & Co KG and STEYR Powertrain AG & Co KG to MAGNA STEYR Powertrain AG & Co KG.
2002 July 6: Magna Steyr takes over Eurostar.
2004 Magna Steyr's business unit Powertrain is hived off into the independent Magna Group Magna Drivetrain.
2005 Acquisition of the Fuel System Group from Tesma International Inc..
2010 Erhard & Sohne, a supplier of tank systems and compressed air tanks for commercial vehicles, is acquired by Magna Steyr.
2011 ACTS (Advanced Car Technology Systems) situated in Sailauf is integrated into Magna Steyr.
The Pinzgauer is now owned and produced by BAE Systems Land Systems in Guildford, Surrey, however production has ceased.
From 2006 Automotive Technik Ltd is re-named as Pinzgauer Ltd in order to extend the awareness of its Pinzgauer brand. The Pinzgauer vehicle is used for Military and Emergency Services.
